NYU Long Island School of Medicine Phase Three Schedule
This sample schedule represents phase three of NYU Long Island School of Medicine’s curriculum. During phase three, students complete a structured capstone to prepare for the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination® (USMLE®) Step 2 Clinical Knowledge and Clinical Skills (CK/CS) exams; 4-week rotations in emergency medicine, an advanced clinical experience, and a subinternship; 18 weeks of electives; and a structured 4-week Transition to Residency course.
For the class of 2022, phase three takes place from August 9, 2021, to May 8, 2022, and includes 37 weeks of instructional time.
Students’ rotation schedules vary. The rotations represented in the visual provided are a sample of what a schedule could look like. All students take part in longitudinal courses concurrent with their rotations throughout phase three. Longitudinal courses include Health Systems Science, Learning Communities, and Continuity Ambulatory Practice Experience.
