Clinical Instructor, Department of Foundations of Medicine
I have been involved in research for over 40 years first in clinical electron microscopy and then in many aspects of basic science utilizing all aspects of microscopy (e.g. fluorescent, phase contrast, confocal, immunofluorescence, TEM, SEM), molecular biology (e.g. transfections, cloning, PCR, RT-PCR, genotyping, SNP determination, gene expression), Western blot analysis, ELISA, EIA RIA, Multiplex arrays, protein separation techniques, immuno-precipitation and all aspects of animal handling. I have experience with experimental design, lab management and my work has been presented in over 52 publications generating a significant portion of the preliminary data presented. I have been studying L-PGDS lipocalin prostaglandin D2 synthase for the last 20 years and proven its connection to a variety of diseases including: cancer, preterm birth, and diabetes and obesity.
