Accessible Housing for Medical Students
In accordance with applicable federal, state, and city disability laws, NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine makes available accessible housing for students with disabilities. Current or prospective students who have a disability and who are otherwise eligible to reside in NYU Langone Housing may request accessible housing through NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine’s Office of Student Affairs. Requests for accessible housing are reviewed and determined on a case-by-case basis as part of an interactive process in order to address the individual needs of the requesting student.
NYU Langone Health is committed to ensuring that students with disabilities have equal access to its housing programs and resources. As part of that commitment, NYU Langone continuously strives to enhance the accessibility of its student housing, including by reviewing and updating its housing options as necessary to ensure that they comply with NYU Langone’s obligations and meet the needs of its students with disabilities.
Emergency Management Plans
As part of these efforts, NYU Langone has updated its emergency evacuation, sheltering, and sheltering-in-place plans as those plans relate to housing for students. Our goal is to ensure that persons with disabilities are provided with a full and equal opportunity to benefit from these services in the most integrated setting appropriate to the needs of the individuals.
