Circadian rhythm, atherosclerosis, obesity, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, lipid metabolism, glucose transport
Summary
The long-term goals of the PAN Laboratory are to understand the biochemical, molecular, physiological, and pathological determinants of the dysfunctional circadian clock genes that cause atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease. My primary academic interests are understanding the chemical, molecular, physiological, and pathological mechanisms of the central and peripheral internal circadian clocks that regulate lipid metabolism and glucose transport. I aim to shed light on the crucial role of circadian rhythms in biological systems and disease conditions, providing a deeper understanding of their impact on health.
