Urology Residency
The Department of Urology at NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine offers a five-year Urology Residency that is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Our program sponsors 10 residents, with 2 residents in each year of training. Urology residents train in both adult and pediatric urology.
Led by program director Aaron E. Katz, MD, our faculty, who also perform treatments at NYU Langone Urology Associates—Garden City, and staff are committed to creating and sustaining an optimal educational environment for acquiring knowledge and developing and honing technical skills in all aspects of urology. We are looking for house staff members who are energetic, enthusiastic, diligent, and dedicated to providing unparalleled patient care.

How to Apply
NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine Urology Residency Interviews will take place in person on Saturday, November 9, 2024 in Mineola, NY.
Medical students’ applications to the Urology Residency are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), which is overseen by the Association of American Medical Colleges. Applicants must file applications electronically at their own medical schools.
The materials listed below are required to complete your application:
- ERAS application
- personal statement
- CV
- dean’s letter
- medical school transcript
- three letters of recommendation
- part I (and part II if available) board score(s)
The selection process is done through the American Urological Association (AUA) match system. Our deadline to receive completed applications is October 1. Completed applications are evaluated by the department chair, program director, assistant program director, and their appointed committee consisting of urology faculty from NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine.
Qualified individuals will be invited for an interview. Each invited candidate will be interviewed by key faculty, consisting of two to three faculty members within each group, followed by an interview with the department chair and residency program director.
Each candidate will be ranked, and the names are submitted to the AUA match system. Upon completion of the match in January, the program and applicants are notified of the results and who will be joining our program.
