Aligned with medical school’s mission, our division strives to advance medical education, scientific discovery, and the delivery of equitable, collaborative healthcare. Our faculty embody the core values of collaboration, respect, integrity, diversity, and excellence in all clinical, research and educational endeavors. By training outstanding physicians, conducting groundbreaking research, and providing top-tier patient care, our division plays an integral role in improving the health of the communities on Long Island and beyond.
Dermatology Education
We are committed to educating medical students and trainees pursuing the medical school’s primary care specialties on the recognition and management of dermatologic disease.
Through our MD curriculum, medical students can engage in elective rotations and research projects mentored by our faculty. Additionally, for a more immersive educational experience, trainees can also pursue an elective year in our division.
Medical students, residents in the internal medicine residency program, and fellows in the oncology–hematology fellowship program benefit from exposure to a diverse patient population, personalized mentorship, and unique research opportunities.
Dermatology Research
Our faculty conduct groundbreaking clinical research to advance the understanding and treatment of skin diseases. These are some of our key areas of investigation:
- novel targeted treatments for side effects of cancer treatments
- patient preferences for dermatologic treatments
- innovations in access to dermatologic care
- novel treatment options for hair loss
We collaborate closely with researchers across NYU Langone Health and other institutions. Our faculty’s work is regularly featured in top journals and presented at national meetings like the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting, the Multinational Association for Supportive Care in Cancer, and Society for Investigative Dermatology Meeting. Ongoing studies are supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health, Dermatology Foundation, industry sponsors, and philanthropic organizations.
