Division of Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery

The Division of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery in NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery provides operative and nonoperative treatment for all hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity conditions, including common injuries to the bone and joints. Our nonsurgical approach includes occupational and physical therapy, injections, splinting, and casting.

When appropriate, our physicians apply surgical techniques that incorporate components of orthopedic, plastic, neurological, and vascular surgery. Treatment of hand and upper extremity injuries often includes rigorous rehabilitation. Our hand and upper extremity team is committed to helping patients correct the underlying condition and restoring their function.

Medical students wishing to explore orthopedic surgery may enroll in electives with our division as part of NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine’s MD curriculum. We also offer an opportunity for interested visiting medical students to participate in an orthopedic surgery away rotation at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island.
