Experts in the Division of Sports Medicine provide treatment for sports-related muscular injuries, including concussion management, as part of a comprehensive, well-rounded sports medicine program for athletes at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island. Our members include orthopedic sports medicine surgeons and primary care sports medicine physicians.

As part of NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery, all of our faculty are involved in research, clinical, and educational activities. Division members present regularly at regional and national meetings.

Our sports medicine physicians provide care for student athletes at Adelphi University and Long Island University Post, and maintain a robust Athletic Trainers Program across a number of Long Island school districts. Additionally, our highly trained specialists work closely with experts in Rusk Rehabilitation at NYU Langone—Garden City, Rusk Rehabilitation at NYU Langone—Lake Success, NYU Langone Ambulatory Care East Meadow, and NYU Langone Huntington Medical Group, to provide sports performance training and occupational and physical therapy.

Medical students wishing to explore orthopedic surgery may enroll in electives with our division as part of NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine’s MD curriculum. We also offer an opportunity for interested visiting medical students to participate in an orthopedic surgery away rotation.
