Division of Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery

The Division of Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery, part of NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery, is active in research, resident education, community education, and quality initiatives to improve patient care. The majority of our work involves the care of children with sports-related injuries, fractures, congenital deformities, and tumors.

Our research focuses on the musculoskeletal care of children, a topic on which we regularly publish studies and present at scientific conferences, including the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA). We also provide grant funding to advance orthopedic resident education.

Faculty in the division provide ongoing lectures and surgical training throughout the year. Education not only involves our orthopedic surgery residents but also includes pediatric residents, physical medicine and rehabilitation residents, medical students, and physician assistant students.

Medical students wishing to explore orthopedic surgery may enroll in electives with our division as part of NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine’s MD curriculum. We also offer an opportunity for interested visiting medical students to participate in an orthopedic surgery away rotation at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island.
